Wye Range

Since their introduction in 1983, the Wye harps have become our best selling models. There are four Wye harps - with 37, 34,31 and 26 strings, tuned G' - a"', C' - a"', F- a"' and D - a"'. These are high tension harps with concert harp spacing. Their tone is very clear and well balanced throughout their ranges. They are built with a laminated, half-round body made of specially imported beech or birch. The body is then veneered to match the neck/pillar assembly. The soundboard is of selected, vertical grain spruce or Douglas Fir and the offset neck/pillar assembly is laminated to withstand the high tension. The decorative base is fitted with feet and is constructional in purpose as well as adding to the stability and looks of the harp.

Timbers available include ash, sapele and makoré. The finished harps are sealed with shellac and then highly polished using a natural wax. Cam-action semitone levers are fitted as standard which allow for fast, accurate sharping of all notes. A tuning key is provided.

The Wye kits are offered with the body shell ready-built, veneered and fitted with top and bottom blocks. The neck is laminated and the tuning pin and bridge pin holes are pre-drilled.

Clarsach

The first harp we made, and, after twenty years, still very popular. We have built many hundreds of these harps in finished, partly finished and kit form. A constant programme of refinement has led to the present day model which offers superb value. The thirty string instrument (G-a"') is available with nylon or metal stringing, a spruce or Douglas Fir soundboard and offset neck/pillar assembly. Cam-action semitone levers are fitted as are feet. A tuning key is included.

Knee Harp

Recently re-designed with a longer scale length. The twenty five string Knee harp (E - a"') is very portable and, although smaller, is built to the high specifications of all our other harps. The harp has a tapered box body, offset neck/pillar assembly, a spruce or Douglas Fir soundboard and is fitted with cam-action semitone levers. A tuning key is included.

General Notes

All our harps come complete with tuning key. They are all sealed to minimise moisture transfer and are then highly polished with a natural wax. All harps are fitted with cam-action semitone levers as standard. All harps have solid brass bridge pins fitted for accurate string alignment and clear intonation.
