If you wish to carry out your own decorations or simply save a little money, then a partly finished instrument may be the answer. They are completely built and machine-sanded but require fine sanding, polishing and fitting of the provided pins and strings.
All our harps are available in kit form. With all Wye harps the neck/pillar assembly is complete and the body shell is built, fitted with top and bottom blocks and veneered. All kits come complete with plans, instruction sheets and all materials necessary in the construction except for glue, polish and sanding sheets. The ability to use woodworking tools and an electric drill is needed but no specialist tools are required. Building a harp from one of our kits is an economical and enjoyable way of obtaining a very good instrument.
Wye kits have cam action semitone levers as standard. Clarsach and Knee harp kits are supplied with semitone hooks but may be ordered with levers for the appropriate surcharge.
